  10. 1. Starting the game.

  13.     To run the game, click Start and choose Run... and type the path and
  14. name of WDRAGON.EXE.  You may also make a shortcut to WDRAGON.EXE either
  15. in your start menu or windows desktop.  If you have a slow computer, you
  16. may wish to run the game with the "low sound quality" command line option,
  17. -L.  Simply add the -L after the name of the file.  So, for instance, you
  18. might run:

  20.         C:\GAMES\WDRAGON\WDRAGON.EXE

  22. or:
  23.  
  24.         C:\GAMES\WDRAGON\WDRAGON.EXE -L
  25.  
  26. where the -L one runs the game with low sound quality.

  29. 2. Controls

  32.     When run, the game searches for a joystick.  If it finds one, you can use
  33. it to control the game.  Button #1 is used for actions, like talking to people,
  34. searching objects, bringing up the main menu, and selecting menu options.
  35. Button #2 is used to cancel menus.  Any menu which you entered voluntarily
  36. can be exited with the cancel button, allowing you to leave the menu without
  37. selecting a choice.

  39.     Alternative to the joystick, you may use the keyboard.  On the keyboard,
  40. the arrow keys are used to control the direction of the character and change
  41. menu selections, CTRL is used as button #1, and SHIFT is used as button #2.
  42. You may also toggle between windowed and full screen mode with alt-enter,
  43. skip to another windows program using alt-tab, or quit the game immediately
  44. using alt-F4.

  50.     The game gives you the ability to save your game anywhere.  Take advantage!
  51. Save often, and don't just use one adventure log.  If you are lost in a cave,
  52. do not overwrite your main save game.

  54.     For optimal performance, do not run this game while running any other
  55. programs.  If you have problems with slowness, choppy sound or late sound
  56. effects, most likely it is because something else is running and hogging
  57. system resources.

  64.     This game is released for free.  You may not charge money for it under
  65. any circumstance without our consent.  You also may not distribute this game
  66. with any of these files missing or modified:  README.TXT, WDRAGON.EXE and

  68. the only authentic files.
